What is the StingRay File Transfer Server?

Hermstedt StingRay is a server dedicated to the sole function of sending and receiving files, providing maximum security whilst transferring files in a network environment. This Enterprise level file transfer server is located in-house, giving you complete control over your digital communication. With support for numerous file transfer protocols, StingRay is the all-in-one package, designed to fulfil all your business file transfer requirements.

Using StingRay for Enterprise File Transfer - What can it do?

Users who need to send files are able to deliver them to the StingRay from their desktop using either the internal web interface or the StingRay Client application. The StingRay then handles the transmission to the remote site and sends email notification to the user upon completion.

Receive Files

When receiving files in addition to notifying you or your customer, files can be forwarded into your workflow or simply collected over the network from your desktop.

Host Files for collection

Files can be hosted on StingRay in secure virtual partitions for users to log into and either upload to or download from. You'll be informed of any activity in each of the folders via email notification unlike many other file transfer solutions.

Retrieve Files from StingRays Exchange area

StingRay is able to automatically login to a remote FTP server and collect files that have been hosted for you. It also polls the remote server at regular intervals, deleting files when they've been collected if the correct privileges have been granted, to ensure they are not downloaded multiple times.

Hot Folders (Sending Files)

In order to track and log all data transfer, StingRay provides you with the option of allowing your workflow to deliver files directly into a hot folder on the StingRay. Files placed in the hot folder are automatically sent to the corresponding customer address entry, naturally providing full tracking and notification as standard.
