Upgrading to StingRay version 2.5

In order to update you to version 2.5 from a previous version of StingRay firmware, an engineer will need to attend site and exchange the internal hard disk in your StingRay.

Depending on the version of StingRay firmware you are running at present and whether you are covered under maintenance the following will happen:

If you are currently running StingRay version 2.4 and have a silver maintenance contract, it is likely that we already have a backup of your StingRay's settings. The latest backup file will be restored onto the replacement hard disk so no settings are lost.

If you do not have a maintenance contract or you are on bronze maintenance contract it is likely we will not have a copy of your settings. In this case Pro2col or your StingRay Authorised Reseller will be in touch to guide you through the backup process and sending the details into ourselves.

If your StingRay is running an older firmware version, Pro2col or your StingRay Authorised Reseller will be in touch to assist in updating your StingRay to firmware version 2.4 and then we will guide you through the backup process.

250Gb Hard Disks

The new features built into the 2.5 firmware require a fair amount of storage space on the server. If you haven't upgraded already it is not too late to increase the storage capacity on your StingRay, please call if your would like to upgrade to a 250Gb hard disk.
