StingRay 2.5 is the first major firmware release for the StingRay File Transfer server since Pro2col Ltd acquired the solution back in 2007. Incorporating a range of new features, StingRay 2.5 marks a significant step forward for this multi-protocol file transfer server with the inclusion of two brand new file transfer protocols, External Web Browser File Delivery (HTTP) and Email Hyperlink.
Web Browser File Delivery (HTTP)
StingRay 2.5 enables the transfer of large files between you and your customers via a standard web browser. Files can be hosted in a secure virtual partiton on the StingRay server for your customers to login and download or alternatively, customers can upload files to the same partition for you to collect.

Web Browser File Upload
Eliminate the user problems associated with complicated FTP clients by providing your customers with a quick and simply way of uploading and downloading large files.
Email Hyperlink File Transfer
Wouldn't it be great if you could send files directly to your customers without having to worry about attachment limits and bounced emails? The new Email Hyperlink delivery option built into StingRay 2.5 allows you to do just that.
Simply send files via the StingRay server and an email containing a dynamically created, encrypted HTTP link will automatically be sent to your customer. Once the email has been received they simply click on the applicable link to download the file!

Email Hyperlink File Transfer
So users and IT Departments are freed from the troubles associated with email limitations and the overheads involved with maintaining a corporate email server are reduced!
SNMP
IT Administrators can now remotely monitor the status of Ethernet, disk space, memory usage and temperature of the StingRay server using SNMP.
StingRay 2.5 is a complete rewrite of the system so to incorporate the new features we’ve had to make some major changes. Therefore, if you are currently running version 2.4 and would like to upgrade, please get in touch for further details of the upgrade process.
