StingRay is a dedicated file transfer server used in many different ways across a variety of industries. Below we've outline a number of typical installations but these are by no means a definitive list. If you have any specific installation requirements please get in touch.
Publishers Picture Desk
FTP is enabled on the StingRay allowing external customers to send files/folders in to their own secure, virtual partition on StingRay. StingRay then takes the files sent in and forwards them into an internal picture desk workflow, for example a FotoStation server.
Advertising Agency
In order to send proofs back to corporate customers with email limits and FTP restrictions agencies enable Email Hyperlink. This allows the agency to drop files onto the StingRay which then emails the customer with a automatically created download link to the file/files. This ensures that large files can be delivered via email.
Printer/Packaging
Printers can provide their customers with an area to upload and download files via either FTP or a web browser.
Photo Agency
For photo agencies its all about getting photo's to picture desks. StingRay allows you to send to group addresses, for example "daily newspapers" or "regional newspapers". In addition you can send files into StingRay and it can turn them around and send them right back out to a group address.
